We are now looking for a
Data Scientist for sensor & algorithm development for KONE maintenance applications
The digital services R&D data scientist team is responsible for the development of analytics algorithms ranging from the onsite signal processing to the AI solutions on the cloud.
By joining in, you will get into fully global environment with real purpose. The service R&D data scientist team is fully global, there is presence in three continents. You will be in your part contributing that the People Flow within the cities is fluent and the everyday life of people is uninterrupted. In society critical operations, like in hospitals, we make sure that the equipment is safe and reliable to use.
You will contribute to the analytical algorithm development on IoT edge devices which are in the core of KONE digital maintenance offering. In this role you are responsible of designing, implementing and testing algorithms with an experienced team. This requires an active collaboration in an agile team and fluent communication.
The position provides also individual learning opportunities. We have a relaxed atmosphere where respect of the individual has high importance. We emphasize working together in the teams and we also understand that proper work-life balance is important to deliver results in a long run.
KONE’s biggest R&D globally is in Hyvinkää, Finland. We offer flexible working time, remote working opportunities and we also support commuting to work. You can also work from our Espoo office if that's more convenient for you.

As an ideal candidate, you’d have
- M.Sc. or equivalent knowledge in data science, mathematics, computer science, software engineering or other related professional area
- Experience in algorithm development in C++
- Good communication skills in English and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Considered as advantage
- Enthusiasm in software development
- Interest in application development in the edge hardware and camera-based solutions
- Experience in PyTorch or TensorFlow C++ APIs
- Experience with Agile ways of working
